Discuss what you are facing →One of South Africa's most well known and respected Clinical Psychologists - offering confidential and compassionate online therapy for individuals and couples
Reaching out for help with a personal or relationship difficulty is not always easy. I respect the courage it takes to make that first contact.
My aim is to provide a safe, confidential and compassionate space in which we can understand the challenges you are facing and work towards practical, meaningful change.
Over more than four decades in private practice, I have worked with thousands of individuals and couples across a wide range of emotional, relationship and sexual difficulties.
My approach is generally brief and solution-focused. The focus is on understanding the difficulties you are facing, clarifying what you would like to change and working towards the goals you set for therapy.
I integrate a variety of approaches, including CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy), insight therapy, positive psychology and supportive therapy. I adapt the approach to the needs of each individual or couple.

Talk about a transition →I am Dr Woolf Solomon, a Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I have been in private practice for over 40 years and now offer online therapy to individuals and couples.
During my career I have specialised in individual, marital, relationship and sex therapy. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, panic, post-traumatic stress, phobias, executive burnout, male mid-life transition, sleep difficulties, loss and grief, pornography-related difficulties and unconsummated marriages.
In South Africa I became well known in the media as “Dr Paul”, hosting radio and television programmes and appearing regularly as an expert guest. Over the years I have also supervised clinical psychology and psychiatry students and addressed many corporate and academic audiences locally and internationally.
Relationship and sexual difficulties are often deeply personal. They can be discussed in a confidential, respectful and non-judgmental setting.
Long-running conflict, distance, trust difficulties or intimacy problems can become entrenched. Therapy creates a structured space to understand the pattern and decide what needs to change.
Sexual difficulties are common and often affect confidence, closeness and communication. They can be discussed directly, respectfully and without judgement.
I have worked with many couples whose relationships remained unconsummated, helping them address fear, pain, penetration difficulties and the emotional strain that can develop around the problem.
I now offer my practice online, providing confidential and compassionate therapy to individuals and couples from the privacy and convenience of their own home.
Before making an appointment, I like to speak briefly with each person to understand what help they are looking for and whether the therapy I offer is the right fit.
